Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding market presence within the logistics sector. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management, strong networking skills, and the ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Analyze customer needs and logistics industry trends to develop tailored solutions.
Business Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue growth and market expansion.
- Set achievable sales targets, track performance, and report on progress.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Identify and approach potential clients, presenting our services to meet their logistics needs.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and new clients.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams including operations, marketing, and customer service to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments to align business development activities with overall company goals.
Networking and Brand Promotion:
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Enhance brand visibility and reputation through effective communication and networking.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of business development initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including sales forecasts and market feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role in the logistics or supply chain industry.
- In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
