A growing logistics company with headquarters in the Netherlands, specialising in load carriers and material handling equipment is looking for a Category Manager/Trader for used pallets to join their procurement team. The company provides a range of logistics solutions, including pallets, roll containers, storage boxes, and other handling equipment that are essential for supply chains and transportation industries.
You will be joining a fast-growing company of over 700 employees, operating across more than 40 locations in Europe, with the mission to become the leading sustainable provider of custom load carriers including pallets, roll containers, and boxes. With a strong focus on circularity, your role will be crucial in enhancing our purchasing position for both new and used pallets. You will be part of a dynamic and rapidly evolving procurement team, and can work from anywhere in the EU.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the used pallet category for all European entities of the company
- Developing and executing a comprehensive Project Strategy Plan.
- Building an effective communication network with key stakeholders, such as the Sales Department, Managing Directors, and the Procurement community.
- Implementing pricing strategies across countries to achieve competitive pricing.
- Defining trading tactics for used pallets by identifying and exploring large trading market opportunities.
- Managing the category and supply chain based on key factors such as quality, logistics, timeliness, sustainability, and competitiveness.
- Managing supplier relationships, developing Supplier Development Programs, and ensuring contract compliance.
- Staying up to date on market developments and business analytics in the pallet category.
- Leading complex procurement processes and projects.
- Ensuring proper contract management within the ERP system.
