Job Description:
Position Overview: The Category Manager Logistics will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for our logistics operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our logistics services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies for logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks in the logistics sector.
- Manage and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards and objectives.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with logistics service providers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand logistics needs and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within the logistics category.
- Stay updated with industry developments, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, preferably in a category management role.
- Proven track record of successful negotiations and supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in procurement and logistics software/tools.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
