Cost Engineer Needed for an innovative and well respected Industrial Manufacturer!

$100,000 - $115,000 base salary plus bonus
We are seeking a Cost Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. Our client is renowned for their commitment to innovation, excellence, and fostering a supportive and energetic work environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the cost reduction to the organizations supply chain and will be extremely hands on with suppliers.
The Cost Engineer manage and facilitate global cost reduction activities in conjunction with key stakeholders within and outside the Procurement Organization. The Cost Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
-Technical evaluation of potential and current supplier's design, manufacturing, and quality capabilities.
-Collaborate with suppliers to enhance delivery, quality, and cost, applying lean manufacturing principles to remove production bottlenecks from a supply chain perspective.
-Contract negotiations including pricing, payment terms, and logistics.
-Bench-marking suppliers/market, cost estimation based on procurement experience and engineering knowledge of part design and materials used.
-Promote continuous improvement through Value Engineering to reduce costs in the design and manufacturing process.
-Overseeing major projects by managing vendors and commodities, which involves negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms, and conditions.
-Applied engineering expertise to estimate the cost of design and manufacturing of parts to support negotiations.
The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:
-Bachelor's degree with 3-5+ years of experience in a related industry
-Experience with procurement or mechanical engineering required
-Experience working with sheet metal is a plus
