Director of Operations Summary:
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a rapidly growing organization looking to bring on a Director of Operations in Savannah. The Director of Operations holds a key role in overseeing warehouse operations within a high-paced environment, responsible for understanding, prioritizing, organizing, executing, and monitoring various facets of the facility's efforts. Their role entails managing the delicate balance between meeting the demands of a discerning customer base and optimizing profitability and efficiency metrics. Additionally, they oversee profit and loss (P/L), ensure operational efficiency, prioritize safety, and facilitate the seamless on boarding of new customers. This position demands a strategic mindset to sustain optimal performance amid the challenges of a rapidly evolving operational landscape.
Responsibilities of the Director of Operations:
- Oversee Warehouse Operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution with customer requirements.
- Understand administrative processes, including managing paperwork flow, allocation, waving, routing, and their impact on floor activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of activities for billing using relevant information systems like the warehouse management system.
- Manage vendor compliance requirements to safeguard customers against potential compliance violations on the floor.
- Act as a liaison between the office and warehouse/dock, addressing and resolving issues arising from the interplay of customer demands and operational constraints.
- Exercise control over operational aspects in all areas of responsibility, emphasizing performance and effectiveness, and closely monitoring relevant KPIs and metrics.
- Collaborate with the corporate and regional management teams, as well as customers, to devise staffing plans for recruiting, training, and retaining both managers and hourly associates.
- Cultivate professional and courteous relationships with key business partners, internal and external stakeholders, and operational affiliates.
- Collaborate with regional management to develop operational forecasts and achieve budgetary performance in operations and production.
- Lead teams in meeting KPIs related to safety, throughput, productivity, inventory, continuous improvement, quality, maintenance, associate engagement, and environmental control.
Qualifications
- Preferred ~ Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in Warehouse Operations
- WMS Knowledge in Manhattan, Red Prairie, or Synapse
- Knowledge of high-volume pick/pack and direct-to-consumer omni-channel processes.
- Capable of identifying and resolving problems promptly, demonstrating independence in creating solutions.
