Tasked with optimising manufacturing operations across the region, this position will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing process.
The Director of Procurement will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders to optimize supply chain operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The primary objective is to achieve strategic sourcing objectives, maximize cost savings, and enhance overall procurement efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Analyze market trends, conduct supplier evaluations, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities support manufacturing needs.
Strategic Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, quality standards, delivery schedules, and service levels.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
Supply Chain Optimization:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance teams, to optimize the supply chain and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Identify potential bottlenecks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement processes to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Contract Management:
- Oversee the contract management process, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor contract performance and address any deviations or disputes in a timely manner.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

- Identify training and development needs, and implement initiatives to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.
Cost Management and Savings:
- Develop and implement cost management strategies to achieve cost reduction targets.
- Analyze spend patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement appropriate measures to optimize procurement costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Supplier Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks within the supply chain, including supplier financial stability, geopolitical factors, and market fluctuations.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
