A leading chemical company is seeking to expand its team with the addition of an Electrical Engineer! With a focus on specialty and fine chemicals, this manufacturing company boasts over four decades of industry experience. As the Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical assistance, driving process improvement, and offering manufacturing support for the plant. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering and have prior experience in industrial plant operations. Proficiency in handling motors, starters, valves, transmitters, and transformers is essential. Additionally, the successful Electrical Engineer must demonstrate the ability to manage complex systems while maintaining adherence to stringent safety standards.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
- Collaborate with plant personnel to provide technical assistance and support for chemical production
- Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities
- Develop, implement, and maintain new processes for the site
- Provide cost estimates for business development plans
- Design equipment layouts
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrument issues, identifying root causes
- Support various areas including Manufacturing, Utilities, and Maintenance
- Design measurement and control systems based on experimental data
- Evaluate and specify new electrical equipment and instrumentation
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating progress to stakeholders
- Adhere to safety and quality procedures
- Communicate effectively with employees and external stakeholders
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Proficiency in designing and specifying manufacturing support systems, including various transmitters/switches, analyzers, valves, motor starters, VFDs, and lighting systems
- Experience with 24V DC, 120V, 240V, 480V, and 2400V AC systems
- Knowledge of electrical area classification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and self-directed
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- Legally authorized to work in the US without restriction
