Facilities Manager required for Leading Shipbuilder/Ship Repair Company

The Facilities Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee company assets, prioritize repairs, and manage preventive maintenance and equipment installations.
- Lead the Preventive Maintenance team, review schedules and tasks, and provide feedback for efficiency.
- Support product and process improvements by coordinating with stakeholders and facilities staff.
- Identify maintenance needs to enhance productivity and produce necessary estimates and analyses.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Manage on-site facilities, including berthing readiness, sanitary facilities, janitorial services, waste management, and parking.
- Develop and manage budgets for the annual Facilities Business Plan.
- Collaborate with the Environmental/Occupational Safety Manager to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Explore opportunities for energy conservation and recycling.
- Train employees on facility processes.
- Design and plan improvements using CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
- Administer facilities paperwork and ensure compliance with annual inspections.
- Ensure all utilities are operational and oversee maintenance of machinery and rolling stock.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance and repair work.
- Communicate with contractors, regulatory bodies, clients, and team members.
- Control security budgets, recruit, train, and supervise security personnel.
- Maintain security checkpoints, evaluate security processes, and monitor surveillance systems.
The ideal Facilities Manager candidate will have the following skillset:
- High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 5+ years in a supervisory role in facilities and maintenance management
- Experience in maintenance and facilities management in large-scale manufacturing or distribution.
- Knowledge of shipyard operations, industrial equipment, cranes, and plant utilities.
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Design a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees in a production environment.
- Strategic planning and strong analytical skills.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
- Proficient in reading work specifications, blueprints, contracts, and technical publications.
- Effective at handling competing priorities and time-sensitive projects.
- Skilled in scheduling, directing, and organizing work.
- Proficient in group decision-making, team building, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to perform in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of accounting, material procurement, and data processing systems.
- Proficient in using PC and software applications (Windows, Excel, Word, databases).
- Knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and shipyard production procedures.
