A prominent global manufacturer specialising in brake friction materials, recognised for its expertise in producing high-performance brake pads, linings, and other friction components is seeking a Head of Indirect Procurement to become part of their exciting group transformation beginning in 2025. Currently with around 5,000 employees globally, the company is seeking to grow and invest in their purchasing teams in the coming years.

Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive indirect procurement strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage key suppliers to ensure high levels of service, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts and agreements that maximise value and minimise risk.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives across the organisation by analysing spending patterns, identifying opportunities for consolidation, and implementing best practices in procurement.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and IT, to understand procurement needs and deliver solutions that support business objectives.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. Implement risk management strategies to protect the organisation from supply chain disruptions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Your profile:
- A degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is highly desirable.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within an international industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of indirect procurement categories, including IT, facilities management, marketing, HR, and professional services. Proven track record of delivering cost savings and value through strategic procurement initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and procurement software. Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Fluent in German and English is a must
