We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Engineer for a retail company based near Liege in Belgium. The Logistics Engineer will design, implement, and optimize warehouse operations to ensure seamless inventory flow, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence. This role requires a professional who can analyze complex logistics processes, recommend improvements, and integrate cutting-edge technology to streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis and Improvement: Assess current warehouse processes and workflows, identifying areas for enhancement to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Layout Design: Develop and implement effective warehouse layouts that maximize space utilization and optimize the flow of goods.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to leverage warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation tools for improved efficiency.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze operational data to monitor performance metrics, and prepare comprehensive reports for management.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects focused on operational improvements, including timeline planning, resource allocation, and execution oversight.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, transportation, and supply chain planning to align logistics processes with broader company goals.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all logistics operations adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements, fostering a safe working environment.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to staff on new systems and processes to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain engineering, or warehouse operations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master's degree or additional certifications in logistics is a plus.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in process mapping and optimization.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and data analysis tools such as Excel or specialized logistics software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Languages: Proficiency in French and English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma methodologies, and project management frameworks is beneficial.
