Summary:
As the Logistics Manager, you will lead teams in effectively managing material logistics, including production and raw/pack material planning, warehouse operations, and team leadership at the designated location. The role requires a hands-on leadership approach, emphasizing initiative-driven decision-making and successful project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and guide teams to meet their duties and facilitate cross-training. Lead safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Direct inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, and customer service to meet operational standards and enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborate on Total Quality Management (TQM) plans.
- Establish standards, metrics, and processes aligned with company goals, using TPM methodology to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
- Foster communication with internal and external stakeholders, maintain vendor relationships, and collaborate on network design and key performance initiatives.
- Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities, provide advice on logistics innovations, and manage projects to enhance safety, cost, service, and quality.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts in line with company standards, covering various logistics aspects.
- Achieve or surpass measured standards in logistics activities to enhance cost and service performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8 years of experience in warehousing and/or supply chain management.
- 2 years of experience in logistics management and 3 years of supervisory experience in operations.
- Proficiency in utilizing a formal ERP Warehouse Management System.
- Experience in managing 3rd Party Logistics Providers and understanding cost models.
- CSCP Certification and preferably an advanced technical or business degree.
- Experience in related industries such as food/beverage, pharmaceuticals, and managing a chemical supply chain.
- Familiarity with export shipments, DOT 49 CFR compliance, and other related functional areas.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, acquisition integration, and financial measurements in logistics.
- Strong computer skills and utilizing technology to enhance logistics performance.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, tactical, and strategic thinking skills.
