A thriving Food business is looking to hire an innovative, successful Manager in Transportation & Logistics to help positively transform the company's Supply Chain. This is an important position in the Supply Chain team for the company and will be tasked with significantly improving the operations, relationships and strategy of 3rd party Transportation partners. Additionally, the successful candidate will manage a team of direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of direct reports
- Manage and develop (or dissolve) contracts and relationships of 3rd Party Logistics service providers
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and 3rd-party logistics providers to coordinate the timely movement of freight from origin to destination points (Ocean, TL/LTL, and more)
- Prepare & delivery weekly pricing and activity reports for Director and Chief Supply Chain Officer
- Pioneer and Facilitate training for employees
- Analyze logistics processes and propose and implement areas of improvement
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives for the company's TMS procedures
- Keep abreast of shipping rules, regulations, and the transportation market.
- Responsible for managing overall company transportation cost for logistics-related services
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in an analytical subject)
- 7+ years experience in Transportation & Logistics
- Strong process improvement & cost saving accomplishments
- Project Management experience
- Experience with managing teams of direct reports
- Good understanding of TMS
