Position Overview: The Maintenance Manager will oversee the plant's maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, and equipment reliability. This role will collaborate with the plant engineer, using Continuous Improvement techniques and a Management Operating Structure (MOS) to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds using mechanical and electrical expertise.
- Manage employees directly or through supervisors, including selection, retention, development, disciplinary action, and performance management.
- Oversee HVAC, electrical systems (up to 480V 3-phase), and boilers.
- Administer site maintenance and capital projects.
- Optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance using CMMS.
- Implement corrective actions to improve equipment effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and codes for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or some college preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance supervision experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing equipment (filling machines, blow mold machines, air compressors, conveyors).
- Strong PLC experience (Allen Bradley platform); programming skills a plus.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, fabrication, welding, and machining methods is desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience with maintenance technicians.
- Experience with CMMS; MVP JDE experience a plus.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), union, safety, and workers' compensation.
- Leadership in safety/security policies and procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other computer-based applications.
- Adaptability to changing organizational and operational needs and ability to lead through change.
