DSJ Global is parternered with a leading Heavy Equipment Manufacturer out of the Troutman, NC area. They are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II who will provide guidance to the manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing departments, leveraging expertise in specialized fields or general manufacturing.
Manufacturing Engineer II Role & Responsibilities:
- Analyzing time and motion, methods, estimating, process engineering, and plant layout in assigned areas to ensure well-balanced methods and sufficient capacity to meet customer demand.
- Specifying manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials with considerations for associated cost, time, ergonomics, quality, and quantity factors.
- Recommending changes, creating capital justifications, and coordinating the design and development of new manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and materials to contribute to short- and long-term economic objectives.
- Drafting and disseminating manufacturing changes and related operating work instructions to all relevant personnel on the shop floor, along with training operators on product and process changes.
- Conducting evaluations and justifications for the procurement of new machines and equipment.
- Selecting and ordering equipment, overseeing installation, and assisting in training employees in proper equipment usage.
- Monitoring requisitions, purchase orders, and those of subordinates.
- Managing routings and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM).
- Reviewing and guiding new product development with a focus on design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Generating, publishing, and archiving comprehensive documentation for all tools.
- Reviewing engineering designs to estimate tool and manufacturing costs, suggesting design changes for economical manufacturing and planned processes.
- Evaluating and justifying the procurement of new machines and equipment, overseeing installation, and aiding in training employees on equipment usage.
- Assisting engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing personnel in problem-solving activities related to assigned areas for product support.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering related field.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred with Green Belt or Black Belt training or certification.
- Experience: 2-5+ years
- Travel: Less than 10%.
