A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Market Development Manager to specifically cover their Food and Beverage vertical. Your primary responsibilities will include driving business growth through cold calling, pipeline development, and closing deals. You will work closely with Marketing, Inside Sales, and Regional Account Managers, to coordinate and manage interrelated projects within the Food and Beverage Vertical, ensuring you meet your targets and goals. Additionally, you will oversee and manage projects within the defined scope, including large, multi-million-dollar programs and multiple sub-projects within the vertical.
Responsibilities for the Market Development Manager:
Stay informed about key initiatives and their impact on organizational goals, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Assess customer needs and work with the field sales team to provide comprehensive product solutions.
- Coordinate efforts for multi-jurisdictional accounts.
- Submit monthly activity reports and territory analyses to management.
- Monitor market information on pricing, products, and competitors.
- Attend networking events and trade shows.
- Assist in developing and implementing the annual business plan.
- Inform management about market trends and sales opportunities.
- Identify marketing opportunities within the vertical.
- Develop contacts within focus accounts to drive brand demand.
Requirements for the Market Development Manager:
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Business Management, or Business Administration
- 10+ years of related sales experience, preferably in industrial sales.
- Food/Beverage industry experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient and detail oriented with CRM.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
- High energy, initiative-taking, and goal oriented.
