Company Summary: One of the most rapidly expanding pulp/paper companies in the Charlotte Metro is searching to add a Process Controls Engineer to its team! You will be responsible for heading up an impressive DCS migration project from Honeywell TDC 3000 to ABB 800XA. As the Senior Process Controls Engineer, you will:
- Provide process control engineering and automation support to the manufacturing facility
- Take ownership over the site's DCS systems (maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading).
- Develop and execute the maintenance related to systems automation to ensure that the facility is kept in an operational state.
- Execute control system configuration and monitoring, and HMI design
- Direct or assist capital engineering and process improvement projects.
- Provide automation system and facility expertise with regulatory agencies on audits etc.
- Apply engineering theory to establish root cause of equipment failures
- Perform equipment performance evaluations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- B.S in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering - preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience with process controls engineering or maintenance
- Paper & pulp/plastics, or chemical manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), Allen-Bradley PLCs, implementation and management of SCADA, HMIs, FactoryTalk
