Objective
Provide technical expertise to support existing production processes and design improvements for new products and processes. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing. Manage and lead the process engineering department, and oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the plant OT network (Emerson Delta V DCS).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and specify equipment, instrumentation, and automation for new or improved processes.
- Lead commissioning activities and manage small CAPEX projects.
- Conduct plant trials and commercial evaluations to optimize process parameters.
- Lead and direct process engineers, ensuring report development.
- Supervise co-op student projects and participate in site leadership teams
- Provide suggestions during incident investigations, and contribute to procedure development and training.
- Audit processes for efficiency, assist in troubleshooting, propose improvements, and establish manufacturing standards.
- Configure and maintain the plantwide DCS system
- Collaborate with IT for communication and cybersecurity, and stay updated with new technological developments.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering REQUIRED.
- Five to ten years in the chemical processing industry.
- Hands on experience designing processes.
- Thorough understanding of process instrumentation, controls, and computers.
- Experience with Emerson Delta V and Aspen data historian.
