Summary of Position:
The Production Supervisor will ensure adherence to all work rules, safety protocols, and company policies within the plant. Supervise and guide employees daily, providing mentorship, coaching, and corrective action when necessary. Plan and allocate manpower to meet department schedules and production targets. Submit maintenance requests and issue necessary permits to maintain building equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe, efficient, and effective operation and maintenance of the department/building.
- Manage the team by offering clear, consistent direction to achieve objectives.
- Develop, mentor, and train subordinates for current and future roles.
- Ensure direct reports receive proper training on job responsibilities, company policies, quality standards, and safety/environmental regulations.
- Foster a high-performance environment by leading, coaching, and promoting team concepts.
- Schedule daily manpower efficiently based on plant needs.
- Motivate employees to meet or exceed productivity, cost, and quality goals.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, EPA, DEA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations, as well as company policies related to cGMP, SOPs, DOT, etc.
- Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels to ensure accurate reporting of operational status, financial metrics, and key performance indicators.
- Manage special projects, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, safety initiatives, etc.
- Maintain detailed records and reports.
- Design and implement work methods and procedures to enhance productivity and service quality within the department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Three years manufacturing experience within chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
- Two years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and FDA Regulations
- Experience with hazardous chemicals and flammables
