Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager responsible for overseeing all quality functions in a large bakery setting. This role serves as a liaison among various teams, including Administration, Sales, Employees, Customers, and Government Agencies, ensuring that duties are performed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities
- Ensure daily sanitation and food safety within the plant.
- Drive product quality improvements during production.
- Maintain an in-plant presence during processing operations.
- Prepare for plant audits, including pinpointing potential problem areas.
- Develop written procedures for sanitation, pest control, ingredient receiving, master cleaning schedules, document control, and self-inspections.
- Maintain daily records and liaise with state and FDA personnel.
- Submit required documentation to State and Federal Agencies, Koshering, Organic agencies, customers, and brokers.
- Address all concerns related to finished product quality, including labeling and storage.
- Communicate with customers regarding cuttings, specifications, and sample requests.
- Collaborate on budgets, capital, repair, and maintenance supplies.
- Implement Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Lead presentations to management regarding plant needs and equipment options.
- Develop and submit budget items related to lab renovations and upgrades.
- Lead focus groups for production expansion, analyzing data and developing product specifications and sampling rates.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams on quality initiatives.
- Communicate unusual situations to management that may impact operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Agriculture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of quality control experience in the food industry, with bakery experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and USDA protocols.
