Quality Engineer required for leading aerospace provider

A leading aerospace provider is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to ensure products meet quality, security, industry standards, and customer requirements. The QE will monitor processes, inspect goods and services, and propose improvements to enhance operations, system reliability, and minimize downtime, errors, and defects.
The Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Monitor development and production activities according to the Development Lifecycle.
- Review hardware designs, software designs, code, and product documentation.
- Analyze quality performance and produce meaningful metrics.
- Conduct ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 internal audits.
- Manage the Corrective Action system and lead 8D Problem-Solving Root Cause Analysis.
- Troubleshoot issues, tabulate results, analyze data, and create reports.
- Interface with external auditors (Customer, Registrar, ETL/UL).
- Collaborate with Customer Quality representatives on all programs and projects.
- Oversee the Supply Chain from a Quality Perspective:
- Evaluate suppliers via surveys and site visits.
- Generate and send quarterly scorecards to suppliers.
- Work with suppliers on corrective actions.
- Perform supplier audits.
- Lead continual improvement initiatives within the company.
- Document and update process procedures as needed.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) for new and revised parts.
- Assist with the company training program.
The ideal Quality Engineer candidate will have the following skillset:
- 3-7 years' experience in quality engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering a plus), Computer Science, or related discipline
- Knowledge of QMS systems and methodologies
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor and/or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
- Experience with internal ISO 9001 audits
- Experience working with suppliers and conducting supplier audits
- Experience working with and effectively communicating with customers
- Experience with CAPAs
- Experience conducting First-Article Inspections (FAIs)
- Knowledge of basic statistical analysis a plus
- Background in cybersecurity a plus:
- Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) a plus
- Experience and/or knowledge of ISO 27001 a plus
- Excellent communication skills
