The Quality Manager role is based in Dusseldorf or Berlin and has the opportunity to lead the daily work of the QA department, inspire and lead the quality team to deliver improved standards. You must be able to adapt to situations and identify the right interfaces to achieve meaningful results, implement processes and measures and ensure that improvements are implemented (PDCA methodology). To be successful, you should be a leader with a QA background in the food industry and extensive experience in building and improving quality processes and leading effective teams in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you must always be a few steps ahead.
Responsibilities
- Leadership responsibility for the Quality Management Team DACH
- Organization and control of all aspects of food safety and quality management in the assembly center, including food safety compliance, internal audits, food safety approval processes, enforcement of hygiene regulations, pest control program, etc.
- Setting up and controlling all quality processes in an online operating environment (goods receipt, storage, picking, shipping, transport)
- Creating the necessary documentation to define quality standards and operating procedures
- Defining quality standards and initiating necessary corrective actions
- Investigating the causes of problems and sharing findings with the operational teams
- Building relationships and communicating with regulatory authorities in the food and non-food sector
- Participating in the customer complaint resolution process in cooperation with all relevant departments
- Communicating with suppliers on all aspects of delivery quality, complaints, corrective actions, trend analysis, etc.
Requirements
- You are a talented QA professional with at least 5 years of experience in a QA management position in the food trade, food production or similar industry, preferably with fruits and vegetables or dairy products.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, quality assurance and control systems, processes and procedures (HACCP, Food Safety, Microbiology, Global Cap, etc.)
- A hands-on personality with intensive hands-on experience in quality management in the food industry.
- A forward thinker who can quickly and effectively apply his quality management experience in a new environment.
- An inspiring leader who is able to build up his QA team and work cross-functionally with other teams.
- A positive communicator who is able to manage motivation and pressure internally and externally.
