A leading food manufacturer is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Manager to lead their sanitation team and oversee all cleaning and sanitizing activities for their production and packaging equipment, as well as dry storage areas. This role ensures compliance with USDA, SSOP, HACCP, FDA, and GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize employee skills, development, quality, housekeeping, safety, PPE usage, policy administration, employee relations, scheduling, cost control, and coordination of sanitation activities across multiple crews and facilities.
- Ensure the use of PPE, including bump caps, safety glasses/goggles, face shields, face masks, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety shoes or rubber boots.
- Collaborate with production departments to schedule cleaning assignments, address sanitation issues, and monitor performance to ensure compliance with guidelines and procedures.
- Prepare and compile necessary company and government reports within deadlines for production and food safety audits.
- Investigate and propose ways to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and improve equipment and employee utilization.
- Manage, train, and develop subordinates.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in sanitation and/or full-cycle cleaning, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of sanitation staff.
- Experience in food manufacturing and knowledge of SSOP, USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GMP.
- Compliance with company and federal regulations and procedures.
- Basic skills in generating data from electronic general ledger systems like SAP.
- Good mechanical aptitude and effective management abilities.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic and the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
