Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join the dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems, particularly with Rockwell PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Programming:
- Develop, program, and optimize control systems using Rockwell PLCs (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix).
- Create and modify HMI/SCADA systems for user-friendly interface and process monitoring.
- VFD Integration and Configuration:
- Install, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for various applications.
- Optimize VFDs for energy efficiency and operational performance.
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine diagnostics and maintenance on automation systems.
- Troubleshoot control system issues to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Project Management:
- Lead and support automation projects, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience working with Rockwell PLCs and VFDs in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation software (e.g., RSLogix, Studio 5000).
- Strong understanding of control systems, ladder logic programming, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Knowledge of electrical schematics, panel design, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) and implementing safety systems.
