DSJ Global is currently partenered with a Global Manufacturer of Commercial Pool Equipment out of Nashville Tennessee. They are looking to bring on a new Senior Mechanical Engineer to add to their growing team. This person would be focused on design and analysis of heat pumps, filters, heaters and automation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to evaluate engineering concepts and recommend methods for achieving customer-specified reliability.
- Ensure testing processes meet industry standards and customer objectives.
- Participate in design reviews to maintain development plans.
- Lead FMEA to identify high-risk components and support design changes.
- Adjust designs to account for stresses (temperature, humidity, etc.) to improve reliability.
- Perform failure analysis on nonconforming units.
- Ensure testing meets statistical standards.
- Guide internal teams and interface with suppliers on reliability testing.
- Review specifications and propose design improvements to balance cost and performance.
- Monitor testing at supplier, plant, or field locations to evaluate failure causes.
- Collaborate with quality engineers to address field failures using Root Cause Analysis.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience, with 5+ in appliance or hvac engineering.
- Proficiency in engineering tools (CFD, FEA, LabView, Matlab).
- Knowledge of heat pump and gas appliance design and manufacturing.
- Experience taking products from concept to commercialization.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to present technical content to non-technical audiences is a plus.
- BS in engineering; MS preferred.
