Responsibility
Be a role model leader by acting with integrity and respect, approaching responsibility with confidence and ownership, and inspiring superior performance in our 3rd party vendors and within the business's Supply chain
Build strong, effective relationships with the 3rd party vendors and imports customs team. Also serve as a best practices resource as it relates to the performance and management of our other Japan 3rd party logistics providers
Establish key metrics to monitor the vendor's performance; assist (but do not own) with processes or training that will increase performance against stated key metrics; including the leveraging of company's resources as necessary. Lead the vendors to meet business's expectations, service levels and product to the store deadlines
Understand and enhance the productivity and service levels as it relates to the flow of own goods
Train and develop 3rd party teams so they can function independently and maintain brand integrity. Stay connected to the merchandising/receipts calendar and ensure shipping deadlines are met
Involved in the strategic linkage of the APAC/Japan Office team and business partners in Transportation, Supply Chain, DC Operations, Finance, Inventory, and IT, to the 3rd party and responsible for assisting with strategic execution as it relates to the movement of goods from origin to receipt in Japan stores and Direct to Consumer.
Manage 3PL Japan DC Operations, Delivery to stores and Direct to Consumer
Develop communication and operational tools as needed
Ensure vendors are operating in compliance with local laws
Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations to the leadership; research alternative partners in the area if needed
Proactively arrange proactive 3rd party visits and store visits with actionable feedback
Maintain a working knowledge of the technology/systems that support the 3rd party vendors, provide properly structured feedback to IT and Systems regarding ongoing issues and needed improvements.
Requirement
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or similar discipline
Experience in Project Management, leadership skills
5+ years' experience in Vendor Management specifically retail operations/or transportation
Experience in development of operational strategies and instructional design
Knowledge of various applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Efficient in communicate in English and Japanese
Flexible to travel as necessary for the business needs
Excellent organizational skills with ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
