DSJ Global is partnered with a top manufacturing company to hire an EHS Manager in Irvine, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels, including documentation, reporting, training, and policy development.
- Analyze safety data and metrics, providing leadership with actionable insights to support safety priorities and guide resource allocation to high-risk areas.
- Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact, and lead the development and implementation of new programs, processes, and tools to address compliance requirements.
- Define and execute site-specific and departmental safety strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with Workers' Compensation teams to ensure timely reporting of incidents, effective claims management, and cost control. Oversee incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead cross-functional teams in conducting risk assessments, proactively identifying safety risks, and implementing mitigation plans.
- Serve as a technical resource for safety compliance, accident prevention, and risk management practices.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and internal teams, including Manufacturing, Production Technology, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain, to address safety considerations for new products, processes, and initiatives.
- Implement and maintain OHSAS 18001 or equivalent safety management systems within a manufacturing environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Ergonomics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in safety programs within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- In-depth knowledge of California's local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels, including Directors and VPs.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience thriving in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certifications.
- Proven experience driving organizational change in large manufacturing environments, including managing direct reports.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.
