Job Description:
As the Global Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our global transportation operations. A key focus of this role will be on the improvement and implementation of our Transport Management System (TMS) to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. You will work closely with regional transport teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure that our transport operations align with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- TMS Improvement and Implementation: Lead the global rollout of a new TMS, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes. Identify opportunities for system improvements and enhancements to optimize transportation operations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement global transportation strategies that align with the company's objectives. Ensure cost efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in all transport operations.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with transport suppliers and logistics partners. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure high standards of performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor and analyze transportation metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
-Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with international transport regulations and standards. Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in TMS implementation and optimization, with a strong understanding of transport and logistics processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages, particularly German or French, are an advantage.
