Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations, including air, sea, and road freight.
Process Optimisation: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international and local freight forwarding laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve performance targets and operational excellence.
Customer Service: Work closely with clients to understand their logistics needs and ensure timely, cost-effective solutions.
Vendor & Carrier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other logistics partners.
Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to assess operational efficiency and service levels.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve operational challenges, including shipment delays, customs issues, and client concerns.
Technology Utilisation: Leverage logistics software and digital tools to streamline operations and enhance tracking capabilities.
Requirements:
Proven experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in an operational leadership role.
Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and freight transportation modes (air, sea, road).
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluency in English and German is required.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
