A fast growing and rapidly expanding Food organization is now looking to hire a New Senior Transportation Manager to help both optimize and improve its existing Transportation & Last Mile deliveries, as well as help the Supply Chain team continue to grow and scale across the West Coast in line with the company's aggressive expansion plans. This role will help ensure the delivery drivers and distribution operations run on time and that the required vehicles are operating as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of direct reports
- Oversee a total team of approx. 200 including 150 drivers (Independent Contractors and W2 staff)
- Build and implement procedures and policies to ensure top industry standards for deliveries
- Measure KPIs and continuous improvement practices for factors such as environment, health, safety, cost, on-time delivery, to maximize the customer experience
- Champion all delivery processes and promote adjustments to achieve required targets and goals in line with company standards and growth targets
- Collaborate with HR to ensure all colleagues, team members, drivers and staff given necessary coaching, support and encouragement
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in an analytical subject)
- 5+ years experience in Transportation & Deliveries
- Proven experience managing 100+ Drivers (minimum)
- Strong process improvement & cost saving accomplishments
- Experience with managing teams of direct reports
