Job Title: Strategic Buyer - Electronics

Job Overview:
We are currently collaborating with a growing manufacturing company, who are looking for a proactive and resourceful Strategic Buyer - Electronics to lead the global procurement of electronic components. The ideal candidate will take ownership of our sourcing strategy, focusing on optimising costs, maintaining supplier quality, and ensuring timely deliveries to support our production goals. You will work closely with internal teams to streamline procurement processes and ensure the company remains competitive in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute cost-effective sourcing strategies for electronic components, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Supplier Management: Identify and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, negotiating terms that favour cost savings, delivery reliability, and quality standards.
- Cost Optimisation: Drive savings through supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, and cost-reduction initiatives to contribute to the company's profitability.
- Market Research: Continuously analyse trends and developments in the electronics and manufacturing markets to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure procurement strategies support operational needs and project timelines.
- Supplier Risk Management: Assess supplier reliability, manage risks, and create contingency plans for any supply chain disruptions.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage supply contracts, ensuring favourable terms and long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
- Inventory Control: Work closely with inventory management to ensure just-in-time (JIT) delivery without jeopardising production.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement improvements in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and supplier performance.
- Sustainability Focus: Advocate for sustainable procurement practices, including the selection of eco-friendly materials and suppliers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of electronics supply chains and component sourcing.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
- Experience in procurement planning and cost management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with procurement tools such as SAP or other ERP systems.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills to handle the demands of a mid-sized business.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
