Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a Temporary Manager of Warehouse and Logistics to join our world-class manufacturing and production operations team in our Manhattan, NYC offices. The Manager of Warehouse and Logistics will be responsible for directing a team of warehouse associates in inventory control, transportation, materials handling, plus the strategic forward and reverse supply chain plan to ensure the on-time delivery of goods and smooth execution of logistics-related operations.
Position Responsibilities
- Reports to the Director of Operations
- Plan and oversee outbound logistics, including on-site and off-site warehouse inventory, and the transportation of finished goods
- Plan and allocate resources for picking and shipping processes, policies, and procedures
- Coach, mentor, counsel, monitor, mitigate negative situations, and appraise the job results of staff
- Monitor and uphold inventory accuracy through the cycle count process, investigation of variances, and annual physical inventories
- Monitor and plan for future capacity scalability
- Responsible for managing the department's KPI's, reporting visual controls, and status to management
- Collaborate with inter-department stakeholders to perform assessments on strategic logistic opportunities
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant business degree in logistics or supply chain management or related field
- Prior experience as a manager/supervisor with a proven 5 years in logistics or operations
- Strong logistics background and experience with JUST IN TIME (JIT) process work
- Knowledge of safety, legal, and handling procedures of product; International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods, The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
- Understanding of the Lean Six Sigma methodology known as DMAIC and continuous improvement processes
- Experience with management software tools (ERP/MRP/SAP), which integrate business processes like finance, manufacturing, and supply chain management
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in sourcing, bidding, and contract negotiation
- Lean Six Sigma certified (Green Belt or higher)
- APICS (CPIM) Certified
This is a temporary contract role for a four-month position.
