Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utilities Manager to join the dynamic team at a leading ingredients manufacturing company in the Greater Chicago area. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Utilities Unit, including Wastewater, Steam Generation, and Electricity. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of the manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Utilities Operations: Manage and supervise the daily operations of the Utilities Unit, including wastewater treatment, steam generation, and electricity supply.
- Maintenance and Optimization: Ensure the maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of all utility systems to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all utility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety standards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the utilities budget, including forecasting and cost control measures.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of utility operators and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage utility-related projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new installations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and analyze utility usage and performance data, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Drive sustainability initiatives related to utilities, aiming to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilities management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment, steam generation, and electrical systems.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
