POSITION SUMMARY
A tier 1 automotive/ aerospace OEM is looking for a Vacuum System Process Engineer to be a part of their collaborative culture, devoted to innovation, cooperation, and continuous improvement. The VSPE will manage projects related to developing, designing, and supporting manufacturing processes and equipment, while also influencing product development for manufacturability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Optimize and monitor production processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance process flow and capabilities
- Collaborate in product and equipment launches by developing processes and designing/purchasing necessary equipment
- Lead problem-solving initiatives to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, supporting safety and quality issue resolutions
- Develop and maintain essential production documentation, including Control Plans, FMEA's, and Process Flow Charts, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met
- Design ergonomic workstations and tools to establish best practices, enhancing efficiency and safety across operations

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related field
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, research experience is a plus
- Preferred experience:
- Lean/TPS manufacturing principles
- Solid Woks or other CAD/CAE systems
- PLC Logic and other Process Control Systems
- Statistical Analysis, SPC, project management
- Knowledge/ familiarity with:
- Industrial Automation/Robotics
- Vision/fluid/power systems (hydraulic/pneumatic)
- Motion Control
- Familiarity/ knowledge of physical vapor deposition (sputtering, evaporation, ion beam)
